Our Company
A Service Built on Careful Electrical Work
Saga Kolven was founded on the principle that home electrical work deserves a considered, unhurried approach — one that leaves you better informed than before we arrived.

How Saga Kolven Came to Be
Saga Kolven began in Kuala Lumpur when its founder, Encik Zahir bin Kamaluddin, observed something that seemed to him worth addressing: homeowners were often left with incomplete accounts of what had been done in their homes and why. Work was completed, but the reasoning behind it remained with the technician who walked out the door.
In 2017, Zahir established Saga Kolven as a deliberate response to that gap. The name draws from the old Malay word for journey and the craft of careful assembly — reflecting the belief that good electrical work is as much about understanding as it is about execution.
Since then, the team has grown to include a small, consistent group of qualified professionals. We take on a measured number of appointments each week — enough to do each one properly, without rushing from one job to the next.
Our Mission
What Guides Our Work
Leave a Written Record
Every visit results in documentation. You should have a clear, organized account of your home's electrical state — not just our word for it.
Explain Before Proceeding
No work is undertaken without the homeowner understanding what is being done and why. If something additional is found, it is presented as information, not an instruction.
Respect the Home
Surface protection, careful tidying, and quiet conduct throughout. We are guests in a space you live in, and we carry ourselves accordingly.
The People Behind the Work
Our Team
A small, consistent group — each person known for their attention to detail and their manner with clients.

Founder & Master Electrician
Qualified electrical engineer with over fifteen years on-site, Zahir sets the standard for documentation and client communication that runs through all of Saga Kolven's work.

Mr. Ravi Krishnamurthy
Senior Electrical Technician

How We Work
Standards & Protocols
The practices that underpin every Saga Kolven appointment, regardless of service type or property size.
Licensed Electricians
All technicians hold valid licences issued under Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) requirements. Work is performed in accordance with Malaysian electrical regulations and the latest edition of MS IEC standards.
Pre-Visit Checklist
Before arriving, the technician reviews the booked service scope and prepares the appropriate documentation template. This means time on site is spent on the work itself, not on administrative setup.
Site Safety Practice
Appropriate isolation and testing procedures are followed before any work on live or potentially live circuits. Personal protective equipment is used consistently and without exception.
Surface Protection
Drop cloths and protective materials are placed before work begins. Flooring, cabinetry, and wall surfaces near work areas are protected as a standard practice, not an afterthought.
Client Privacy
Client information and property details are held in confidence. Records from visits are stored securely and are not shared with third parties without consent. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Post-Visit Follow-Up
If questions arise after a visit, clients may contact us to discuss the written summary or clarify any findings. We regard the documentation as the start of an ongoing record, not a one-time report.
Our Expertise
Home Electrical Knowledge, Applied with Care
Residential electrical installation in Kuala Lumpur presents a distinctive set of considerations — from the older wiring found in properties along Jalan Imbi and the surrounding Bukit Bintang area, to the modern high-density developments across Cheras, Bangsar, and Mont Kiara. Understanding how these different installation types behave, age, and interact with current standards is a practical skill built through years of direct engagement with the city's housing stock.
Saga Kolven's technicians have worked across this range — terrace houses, condominium units, bungalows, and older shophouse conversions. Each type presents different considerations around panel capacity, earthing arrangements, and the condition of wiring insulation over time. The Home Electrical Reference Visit is designed precisely to capture this information in a form that remains useful well beyond the day of the visit.
For distribution panel work, the team draws on direct familiarity with the protective device models and bus configurations common in Malaysian residential properties. The Distribution Panel Service reflects the belief that the main board deserves the same careful attention usually reserved for structural assessments — a thorough review that leaves the homeowner with a clearer picture than before.
